Northbrook News!

So here is the long over due update, this year is proving to be a most eventful one! The months have just rolled by, and there has been so much going on that it's hard to remember it all.
Fete day was a great success again, the sun shone and the folk pottered about the green, as usual the jazz band played the theme tune to summer. The stocks this year seemed to be a great draw, and plenty of wet sponges were thrown at the willing and the not so willing! The bar-b-que was fired up and the great selection of treats on offer were gobbled up. As usual the cakes and teas flew out and all in all it added up to what really is truly quintessentially Britain at it's best. We are so lucky here in East Stratton to have such dedicated people who managed to find time to organise a great day out.
Then along came July, Richard and I got married in All Saints Church here in the village on the 2nd. It was a lovely service and the church seemed packed full of all the lovely faces of our friends and family. I am now officially an "honest" woman. We had such fun on our wedding day, the pub green was the venue for out reception and what a fantastic location for our party, I only hope that everyone enjoyed themselves as much as we did. I have to say there was certainly some fancy moves on the dance floor that night!! My husband and I had a fabulous honeymoon in Udaipur, India. He had planned the whole thing and kept it a surprise, and wow! I am a very lucky girl! Whilst we were away back here the village flower festival was held, and was as I understand another great success. The Stratton pots were ablaze with vibrant colours and beautiful specimens, and again the local community came out to support another event held here in our little village.
We are continuing to keep busy, in-fact our bed and breakfast has never had such occupancy. Certainly keeping us on out toes, and amidst the doom and gloom of the current climate we think ourselves very fortunate to have such loyal support. Thank you.
So onward now into the last quarter of the year, and we can't help but wonder what the last few months of 2011 will bring... lets hope it brings more of the same please!
