Welcome to The Northbrook Arms!

Welcome and Thank You for looking at our website; we hope you find it fun but informative and that it might leave you feeling we are worthy of a visit!
We, that is, Wendy and Simon (work man and wife - not real man and wife), have been at the Northbrook for a few years but took the lease in March 2009. We have 40 years experience between us in the industry (as well as antiques, horticulture and air stewardessing to name but a few) and are determined to make any and every visit to The Northbrook Arms an enjoyable one be it a quick pint, an extended dinner, a skittle-alley event or all of them followed by a night's sleep in one of our well appointed bedrooms.
Situated in the picturesque village of East Stratton we are easily accessible to both Winchester and Basingstoke being just off the A33 (see
directions), surrounded by rolling Hampshire countryside and some beautifully kept properties in the village itself. The pub itself is owned by Lord Northbrook and has been in the family many generations.
Our aim is to provide a quality product to the customer (you) at a sensible price in a warm friendly environment that you will hopefully want to tell others about and return to yourself. We strive to produce interesting culinary fare using quality local produce; a vegetable supplier from Basingstoke, butchers from Hampshire and Wiltshire and fish from Brixham (not local, we agree, but the best, and there isn't much sea on the door step of East Stratton!). Flair and passion is what drives our menu, with a British backbone incorporating ideas and influences from around the globe. The daily changing fish board brings the freshest and best value to your plate and the mouth-watering puddings should hopefully cater for all palates and appetites.
The liquid refreshment also plays a major part in our aim as a quintessential English Inn; the real ales are sourced (with the exception of the majestic Otter) from Sussex, Hampshire and Wiltshire offering a wide selection of ales from some of our local breweries including, Bowman, Cheriton Brewhouse and Triple FFF. A wine list changed twice yearly with 10 wines by the glass (4 roses in the summer -
be proud to be pink) gives the discerning palate a wide choice from the fun, fruity New World to the more serious big players of the Old World of France and Italy. We source from 6 suppliers to keep the choice and the prices sensible. Come and sample some of our favourite alcoholic grape juice soon.

We have 5 letting rooms offering very comfortable overnight accommodation at favourable rates, all with tea and coffee making facilities, TVs, and a jolly good hearty breakfast in the morning. So if you are going to enjoy the
Southampton Boat Show, an opera at
The Grange or a ride on the
Watercress Line, why not stay with us?
The most important part to us is that you have a fun, pleasurable visit and you feel you had good value for money. We welcome all feedback and would love to hear from you so that we may continue to develop and make it an even better experience for everyone.
Above all, keep having fun - we all do!
